It's great to see so many excellent pieces of work shared here, and I and everyone else appreciates your hard work and talent. However, if you upload your work into the wrong folder, you may be missing observers and potential fans.
I have just spent the last couple of hours re-sorting art into the correct folders. While most are getting it right, there are more and more putting their stuff in the wrong folders. To help, here is a brief description of what each folder should contain:
Featured - Please do NOT upload work to this folder.
Portraits - These can be any medium and can include monochrome, nudes etc. However they must ONLY be a head and shoulders picture (from the ribs up). A full painting, of a nude for example, goes elsewhere.
Artistic Nudes - Nudes can appear in ANY group, but this group is ONLY for nudes fashioned after fine art. These include life-drawing/painting sessions, copies of Old Masters, and works inspired by such. If your nude is just a nude (albeit well created and attractive) it should go elsewhere, such as pencil or vector.
Pencil & Monochrome - If your picture is not a head-n-shoulders nor an 'artistic' nude, and is either drawn (b&w and colour pencil, chalk, etc.) or painted in monochrome (any colour) then this is where it goes, whether it is a nude or composition.
Vector & Illustrations - If you created your image with Illustrator or similar modelling software, it will almost always go here. Also, if you work in ink (digital or real) as an illustrator and your work isn't a head-n-shoulders nor a nude, it too belongs here.
Paintings - If your painting is not a portrait nor a nude, then it belongs here. This folder showcases painterly artwork (whether real or digital oils, gouache, etc.) Note however, that if you've painted an illustration then this belongs in the illustrations groups even though paint (real or digital) was used.
Other & Mixed media - If you can't identify which folder your work belongs to, then place it here and I will move it if it needs to. This group is for everything else.
Hopefully this will help you make sure that your work reaches the best possible audience for your work, and drive more people to your watchlist.

There is life in the old dog yet... Huge love 3
Hi all those talented and faithful posters out there.
I'm back!
Some of you may well know that my health has been pretty rocky. To add to the problems, my (now ex-)wife decided that she didn't want to support nor care for an invalid. So she stopped feeding and caring for me and moved out, cutting off the gas and 'lecky.
I was in a bad way, with my health problems getting worse, and tried to kill myself... several times. The last one saw me institutionalised (so I had no access to th'web) and while under supervision, my wife took the opportunity to file for divorce. This was a total surprise.
As I had been taken straight from the hospital
Sorry
Hi everyone,
I know that a lot of your submissions are taking a very long time to get accepted.
The founder ~scribbler (https://www.deviantart.com/scribbler) seems to have left dA, he hasn't been online for several weeks now.
I offered to help him a couple of years ago as he was having some health issues.
I need some help or this group will close, sadly.
Unfortunately, he has left the settings in such a way that I can't change them or invite anyone to be admins.
I am very busy with life and I am not on dA as much as I used to be, I will try to accept your artwork before it expires.
If it does expire, please resubmit.
Thanks for your patience,
Angela:heart:

I've just been spending the better part of the last couple of weeks trying out the new Google+ environment, and I'm mightily impressed. It's refreshing and innovative and especially useful for photographers and artists. It's still in its test phase so you can only get in with an invite, which is why I'm offering my invites here en masse. All I ask is that you add me to your 'circles' so that I can help get you up to speed.
